Percy Hooper, Coordinator of Entrepreneurship and New Product Development, NC State University College of Design

Hooper teaches undergraduate and graduate design studios focusing on Invention, Innovation and the Design Process. He directs a suite of entrepreneur-focused programs called EntrepreneurShop, consisting of the following: Industrial Design Community Contact guides students as they work with community professionals to develop new products particular to their needs; Design Assistance for Entrepreneurs invites local inventors into the design studio for help in addressing their design challenges; Innovation Crossing Borders assists artisan communities in other countries to develop new products for marketing in the United States; Middle School Innovators Academy brings design thinking and STEM-based innovation into sixth-grade classrooms. Hooper has headed Architectural-Engineering design projects in South Africa and Ghana, while assisting other architectural design teams building in Mauritius and the US.
