Mickey Lee, Cascades Tissue Group

Mickey Lee is the Paper Mill Manager at Cascades Tissue Group in Rockingham, NC, with responsibility for increasing safety awareness and moving the mill forward on the Bradley curve.  While overseeing two paper machines and a deinking plant, his constant focus is to increase quality, availability and productivity.  Mickey wants Cascades to be seen as a pillar block in the community, and a place to develop a career, not just a job. Prior to joining Cascades, Mickey worked as a straight commission sales agent.  Earning top sales agent status taught him versatility in his approach to people with various personalities.  He feels that position contributed to his current success.  Mickey also worked 4 years at Laurel Hill Paper Company, where he started on the floor and worked his way up to Machine Tender.   Over the past 21 years with Cascades, Mickey has worn many hats. He worked his way up from the floor to Supervisor, Assistant Paper Mill Superintendent, Superintendent, to his current role as Paper Mill Manager. Mickey’s greatest strengths are his creativity, fairness, drive and leadership.  He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach and profit. He has done voluntary work with “Relay for Life”, and has initiated community programs such as cleaning “Hitchcock Creek”, which brought together law enforcement officers and city officials. Mickey lives in Rockingham with his wife, their three children and a slobbery bulldog.  In his free time, Mickey enjoys hunting, surfing behind his wakeboard boat and simply hanging out with friends.
