On October 4-5th 2016, the NC Department of Commerce is inviting employers and educators from across the state to the NCWorks Apprenticeship Conference, Learn and Earn: New Strategies for the 21st Century. The two-day event will have workshop sessions and a program of speakers, in addition to an awards banquet recognizing programs that showcase the benefits of Apprenticeship to solve skills gap needs and business productivity and safety.

A selection of topics for the conference include:

  • Overcoming the Myths with 21st Century Apprenticeships
  • Recruiting America’s Heroes: Transitioning Military Veterans
  • How to Work Smart in the 21st Century
  • Pre-Apprenticeship: Bridging the Skills Gap

The Conference will feature presenters Kevin Poet, Head of Charlotte Plant Operations; Siemens Energy, Inc. and Dr. Robert Lerman, Institute Fellow, Center on Labor, Human Services and Population.
