Presentations to Add Value to Technical Workshops and Sessions

Raleigh, NC (June 3, 2015) — The North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP) today announced a roster of keynote presenters has been added to its inaugural manufacturing conference this fall. The conference, dubbed mfgCON 2015, will be held in Raleigh on October 20-21 and will include two days of manufacturing focused presentations and breakout sessions designed for maximum exposure to the newest ideas, tools and resources.

“We are delighted to welcome these dynamic speakers to this one-of-a-kind event designed to enable us to roll up our sleeves and address some of the biggest issues in manufacturing,” said Phil Mintz, NCMEP Director and Associate Executive Director of the NC State Industry Expansion Solutions, one of eight NCMEP program partners.

Keynote speakers will include: John E. Skvarla, III, Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Commerce; Chris Chung, CEO, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina; Carroll Thomas, Director, NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership; Dr. Michael Walden, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor, NC State University; and Mike Kauffman, General Manager Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Composites & Ceramic Matrix Composites, GE Aviation.

Professionals from world-class companies, including large OEMs, small suppliers and emerging manufacturers will weigh in on technology, sustainability, workforce development, market building, innovation and continuous improvement.
