The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that oversees the state’s efforts in business and job recruitment and retention, international trade, and tourism, film and sports development. The partnership also provides access to research, innovative technology and research and a robust analysis of facilities and sites available for relocation.
The N.C. A&T Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) department completes projects with local industry around topics including: process improvement, ergonomics, in-plant logistics and layout. The ISE department has a long-standing capstone senior design project requirement for all BSISE students, plus graduate student project requirements. Students benefit from the professional development helping to ensure the valuable experience needed for a career in engineering.
The Manufacturing Solutions Center is a facility where innovative concepts may be put through design or the research and development processes. It’s where products and prototypes are tested; manufacturing processes are fine-tuned and accurate cost and product studies are performed. All of these services are available to manufacturers to help stay at the forefront of their industry.
The NCWorks Customized Training Program provides education, training and support services for new, expanding and existing business and industry in North Carolina through a network of 58 community colleges, serving all 100 counties of the state. The goal of the program is to foster and support three key aspects of a company’s well-being: job growth, technology investment and productivity enhancement.
The Polymers Center of Excellence (PCE) provides technical assistance to the polymers processing industry by assisting in the development of emerging technologies and facilitating their economic development, while working to save the environment. The Center converts new polymer concepts and ideas into commercial value via the use of state-of-the-art equipment and then shares these manufacturing techniques through workforce training programs.
